Experience Mardi Gras in New Orleans

A private tour with New Orleans Tour Hub is always a completely custom itinerary, created just for you and your group! A private city tour of New Orleans can be from 2 hours to 10 hours, depending on the destination. Pick-up and drop-off locations are the group’s choice. While many visitors to New Orleans have specific sites they would like to see, many are happy to let our team create a custom itinerary that fits their interests, budget, mobility, and timeline. Typically, tours spend most of their time in and around New Orleans, but we welcome any ideas for your dream tour.

No two groups are alike, and we will plan a trip tailored to your group’s interests, budget, and needs. Below are some sample itineraries to use as inspiration for your perfect tour:

Highlights Tour: A tour designed to give you a taste of the Mardi Gras spirit will keep you in the French Quarter, perhaps visiting the Mardi Gras Exhibit inside the Louisiana State Museum (at the picture-perfect Jackson Square), or heading into one of the famous French Quarter Grande Dames for a frosty beverage, a quick bite, and a peek at some classic Mardi Gras memorabilia. You may even have time to sample a King Cake from a local bakery.

Half-Day Tour: A half-day tour allows more opportunity for you to explore New Orleans’ Mardi Gras history and culture. You’ll take your time exploring the French Quarter, plus a chance to learn what it takes to make Mardi Gras the world-famous event that it is. Your journey could take you out to Mardi Gras World, where you can get an insider’s perspective on how the parade floats are made, check out official memorabilia, or sample a sweet Mardi Gras treat. Another option for a half-day tour is a visit to the Mardi Gras Museum of Costumes and Culture, where you can marvel at the craftsmanship and diversity of Mardi Gras costumes — from the every-day revelers to those of kings and queens!

Full-Day Tour: A full-day tour gives you the chance to explore Mardi Gras and all that comes with it to the fullest, no matter the time of year. Perhaps take a Mardi Gras-themed cruise along the Mississippi River, have your own private Second Line parade that we can pre-arrange (complete with beads and umbrellas), or have an evening cocktail on a balcony in French Quarter and toss beads to passers-by. You could also take some time to see other must-see spots around New Orleans or do your own po-boy or beignet taste-test at the best spots in town! Laissez les bon temps rouler!
