A private city tour of New York City can be from 2 hours – 8 hours, depending on the destination. Pick-up and drop-off locations are the group’s choice. While many visitors to New York have specific sites they would like to see, many are happy to let our team create a custom itinerary that fits their interests, budget, mobility, and timeline. Typically, tours spend most of their time in and around the five boroughs, but we welcome any ideas for your dream tour.
No two groups are alike and we will plan a trip tailored to your group’s interests, budget, and needs. Below are some sample itineraries to use as inspiration for your perfect tour:
Highlights Tour: A 2-3–hour private tour with our local guides can provide a brief but quality orientation to some of New York’s most unique neighborhoods. Maybe you have some Broadway fans in your group who will want to maximize your time in midtown and Time Square, or perhaps you’ll want to include Wall Street and the historic buildings and landmarks of Financial Street for the history buffs.
Be sure to add a stop in Greenwich Village for music enthusiasts and where we can trace the life and times of the Beat Generation and one of West Village’s most beloved folk artists, Bob Dylan.
Some travelers may want to build in a meaningful experience at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, a touching and powerful tribute to those who lost their lives and the heroes who dedicated themselves to helping during and after the tragic 2001 attacks.
And for the foodies, build in a stop for a quick bite on the Lower East Side. You’ll be inspired by the immigrant-influenced cuisine of Little Italy and surrounding neighborhoods and a chance to grab and go for more sightseeing in the vehicle.
Half-Day Tour: We’ll push some serious scenery past the window as we extend our experience northward, to the largest man-made park in the world, Central Park. Here is where we have an opportunity to strike out on foot and explore the park’s most significant landmarks, including the Imagine Mosaic, beautiful Bethesda Fountain, and the scenic lakes favored by wedding photographers and film directors alike.
From here, we can head back to midtown for a drop-off at Empire State Building, a pass by the familiar Radio City Music Hall, or a stop at other venerable institutions like Carnegie Hall and The Juilliard School.
Or we can continue up Manhattan to Harlem, still rich with African American culture, history, and influence.
Full-Day Tour: Combine options of our Highlights and Half-Day tours and even more on a private driving tour up to 8 hours. Hamilton fans will want to pay homage to the founding father in Hamilton Heights and include a visit to the birthplace of actor-composer and In the Heights and Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda.
At the very northern tip of the island, you can escape the commotion of the city at Fort Tryon Park. Enjoy the breeze blowing off the Hudson River far below and take in breathtaking views of the sheer Palisades across the water.
For those rainy days or natural history and art enthusiasts, we’re happy to build in time for admission to one of New York’s excellent museums, such as the American Museum of Natural History or The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
