A private tour with WeVenture NYC is always a completely custom itinerary, created just for you and your group! A private city walking tour of New York City can be from 2 hours – 8 hours, depending on the destination. While many visitors to New York have specific sites they would like to see, many are happy to let our team create a custom itinerary that fits their interests, budget, mobility, and timeline. Typically, tours spend most of their time in and around the five boroughs of New York City, but we welcome any ideas for your dream tour.

No two groups are alike and we will plan a trip tailored to your group’s interests, budget, and needs. Below are some sample itineraries to use as inspiration for your perfect tour:

Highlights Tour: Manhattan is an island made up of diverse neighborhoods, each with a long-standing cultural identity, fascinating history, and food and drink scene separate from one another. With a 2-3–hour option, we’ll introduce you to the most historic streets in the southern tip in such areas as the Financial District, full of indigenous and Revolutionary War histories.

After we visit iconic spots along Wall Street and the easily identifiable New York Stock Exchange, your guide will navigate your way through the subterranean subway system to Little Italy and the Lower East Side, an area rich with immigrant history and cuisine. Here, we’ll see examples of early tenement housing and imagine old New York with its streets lined with pushcarts.

On the opposite side of the island, we can discover Bob Dylan’s New York, tracing the history of counterculture and Beat Generation movement of West Village. We can stroll around Greenwich Village and check out its lively music and comedy scene or jump back on the metro to Times Square, where you’re free to roam or extend your experience with our Half-Day option.

Some travelers may want to build in a meaningful experience at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, a touching and powerful tribute to those who lost their lives and the heroes who dedicated themselves to helping during and after the tragic 2001 attacks.

Half-Day Tour: Midtown Manhattan is home to all of your iconic NYC landmarks, including the Empire State Building, Grand Central Terminal, the High Line, and Time Square.

We’ll pick a spot to do some people-watching – you’re bound to spot some interesting characters – as you hear all about the emergence of Broadway and get tips from your guide on which shows to see and where to get tickets.

We’ll make our way to Columbus Circle, close to legendary concert venues including Gershwin Theatre and Carnegie Hall. Here at the southern edge of Central Park, you’ll get to know the beginnings of the Time Warner Center and hear the surprising history of the park’s early role as a haven for New York’s lower-class families.

Full-Day Tour: Covering the southern portion of Manhattan and the exciting, never-boring intersection of Times Square and surrounding areas, a private walking tour option up to 8 hours will give us a chance to push farther north to Harlem and Hamilton Heights.

We’ll make a stop at the oldest African American church in New York City and learn about its ties to the Harlem Renaissance and hear the forgotten stories and significance of Seneca Village. You’ll also be able to pay tribute to legends like Diana Ross and The Jackson 5 at places they were known to perform.

In the heights, we’ll pay tribute to another historic icon at Hamilton Grange National Memorial and even get the chance to visit actor-composer Lin Manuel’s birthplace in Washington Heights!

For sports fans, we’ll head to Yankee Stadium, where you can fan out over the origins of New York’s favorite baseball legends.

Our full-day description barely scratches the surface of the endless list of things to experience in New York City. Contact our team with your wish list, and we’ll customize an itinerary with something for everyone in your group to enjoy!
